Kitchen Aid (KA)Ice Cream maker attachment does not work well--big disappointment. The drive assembly that should slip onto the motor head doesn't really fit, and when ice cream begins to firm up after less than 10 minutes of churning time, it flies off in a scary way. User is left with an ice cream mixture that is only slightly beginning to harden. At that point the only option is to put mixture in the freezer, even though it is not ready, and consequently the mixture freezes into a hard block. I have the KA bowl-lift stand mixer (4.5 quart) and checked/re-checked assembly instructions so I'm sure I put it on correctly. Maybe it works well with other KA mixers, but it definitely does not work well with the KA bowl-lift stand mixer 4.5 quart. KA customer assistance was no help--they just want to review the assembly ins...

This product makes great ice cream, if you follow a few tips:
1. Freeze the bowl for 24 hours (not 8 hours).
2. If you want to add ingredients at the end, make sure they are frozen in advance (not just cold).
3. About 15 minutes into the cycle, take a dull knife and hold it against the side wall, moving it up and down to prevent ice from forming on the walls (once is enough).
4. Don't worry about the time, wait until the ice cream clearly separates from the blades and begins to stand by itself.
5. Freeze the ice cream at the end for several hours unless you like very very soft ice cream.
I have successfully made ice cream every night for a week using this process.
PS Please don't tell anyone (particularly my family and friends) how easy this is.

I must say this is my first Ice Cream machine. I just made my first batch and im rather happy. As one of the other reviewers said, I thought I could make Ice cream straight away, I was sad when I found out that I needed to freeze the bowel for 24 hrs! Im glad I read every ones tips on freezing the mixtures and making sure everything is super cold before starting the churning process. I can't wait for my next batch!!!!

This ice cream maker makes very good ice cream. You just have to have 3-4 pounds of ice, rock salt and the ingredients in order to make some rich creamy ice cream. You can follow the recipes in the recipe book that comes with it or else find a recipe online.
The machine makes some noise when it's mixing the ingredients but it's no louder than a washing machine. After it's done you'll have some great soft serve ice cream that will become like store bought ice cream when it's been in the freezer for a few hours.

It's that TIME of LIFE! UGH! But, I make sugar-free Jello pops in my Pop molds almost every day...it's the only thing that cools me off! These are terrific! I actually bought 2! (Don't forget -- run it under hot water to remove the outer mold.)

This shaver is nice and I love it. Although, I wish it could make the ice more fine. Currently the ice shards are about medium sized, which isn't bad but a bit smaller and it would be amazing. I would buy this again no problem. I mainly use it to make drinks for myself and company.

I have this Ice Cream Maker, myself, and love it. I use it often and love the ease of use and final product. I love it so much that I just ordered 2 more to give to my children as Christmas gifts. I hope they will enjoy them as much as I have. My maker came with two of the freezing cylinders, which is nice because you can make two kinds of ice cream without having to wait for the cylinder to freeze again before you make another batch. I usually just keep one in the freezer at all times, ready to use. It's so easy. I just adapted my favorite vanilla ice cream recipe to fit the container, then I can just add flavoring to it if I choose... like maple syrup, chocolate, chips, fruit, etc. Great purchase!

Received package in a very timely manner. The part that removes the skin and seeds is what we needed ... and it works wonders for making tomato juice. We actually had fun sing it. Haven't used the rest of the stuff, 3 grinders. After getting this it looks like all I would need to make spaghetti is a set of strainers.

I still remember the days of hand cranking ice cream as a youngster using a White Mountain freezer (in the old green bucket). All the Chinese made plastic freezers don't hold a candle to White Mountain. The ice cream is smoother, harder and tastier. The cost may scare you at first.
