Whole rye bread is also rich in fiber – good for a weight loss diet, prevention of the painful gallstones, heart disease – and research has shown that whole grains, such as rye, contain many powerful phytonutrients whose activity has been overlooked. Whole grains have anti-cancer power equal or higher than that of the better known healthy vegetables and fruits.
