Basic Chili

Description
This is the most basic recipe for chili. Chili keeps well frozen, so go ahead, cook extra and freeze some portions for future meals.
Ingredients
- 4 lb ground beef
- 2 cups chopped onions
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 Tbs salt
- 6 Tbs chili powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 quarts canned tomatoes, with juice (equivalent to 8 cups)
Methods/steps
- Use a 5 quart heavy saucepan to brown the beef with the onions and garlic. Drain. Add all ingredients and bring to a boil
- Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes. Serve warm, topped with cheese, crackers and chopped green onions.
