Apple and Banana Bread

Description This sweet and juicy apple and banana bread is ideal for a snack and a treat at breakfast time. Have a slice with tea or coffee.

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbs sour cream
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 apples, cored and chopped
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
Methods/steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream butter and both types of sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs.
  3. Stir in the three next ingredients -sour cream, banana and vanilla.
  4. Shift together flour, baking powder, soda and cinnamon in a different bowl.
  5. Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture.
  6. Gently stir in apples and nuts.
  7. Spoon the dough into a greased bread pan and bake on the middle rack for 1 hour.
