Cranberry Ketchup

Ingredients
At a glance
  • 2 lb Cranberries
  • 8 oz Onions; chopped
  • 5 oz White wine vinegar
  • 10 oz Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Place into a muslin bag;
  • 6 Allspice berries
  • 4 Cloves
  • 10 Black peppercorns
  • 1 cinnamon stick, about 2 inch long
Methods/steps
  1. In 10 oz of water, bring the cranberries and onions to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until cranberries bursts and onions are tender.
  2. Push through a food mill.
  3. Place the puree into a saucepan with the remaining ingredients, bring to just a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Remove bag and allow to cool.
Additional Tips
Goes well with: chicken, wild game, turkey
