Elderberry Ketchup

Ingredients
At a glance
  • 4 lb elderberries, washed, stalks removed
  • 2 medium sized onions, chopped
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 1 pt spiced vinegar
  • 13 lb sugar
Methods/steps
  1. Place all ingredients into a pan, and simmer until the onions are tender.
  2. Push through a food mill and return the pan.
  3. Cook until sauce is thick and no excess liquid is on top.
